With vocal and instrumental nods towards Falling Forward, Sleepytime Trio and Sunny Day Real Estate, Midvale's music remains significant long after the kids have traded in their book bags for messenger bags and retired their cut-off shirt sleeve headbands. Stephens' sentient songwriting appears in a younger, more volume form on this 1997 release.
